How can HBOT help stroke victims?

Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy for stroke victims is best delivered in the acute stages (straight away) but this is often hard to put in to practice as the patients is usually in the emergency room. HBOT is also effective in the subacute stages (weeks and months) after the stroke and there is still a high chance of healing and recovery. Lastly HBOT is also effective in the chronic stages after the stroke but the patient may need to do more HBOT sessions for the therapy to be effective.

When a stroke patient receives HBOT therapy he is very likely going to see improvement in his condition. HBOT is a low risk and has minimum side effects which makes it a very natural and safe treatment option. Many stroke victims are older people who would find it hard to undergo intense therapies but HBOT is not an invasive therapy and is very suitable for older people. Many stroke patients see an improvement in their strength,  balance, speech, motor skills, less pain and endurance. Depending on how long after the stroke the patient begins HBOT is how significant his gains will be, But any small improvement  has an effect on the patients quality of life.
