Stroke & HBOT

Updated: Jan 11, 2024

Words fail me as I try to express my deep feeling of gratitude for the enormous improvement that my mother has shown in her walking.

After suffering a stroke, she was left unable to walk and had to sit in a wheelchair. For someone who was used to going on daily walks to Broughton park and marching twice around the lake, this was a severe setback for her. Not to mention the thought of not being able to walk to shul on shabbos!

We were advised to try Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as research has shown it can improve stroke injuries in patients. After attending each session my mother would come home invigorated, she was more alert and slept better at night. But the best was still to come. After 30 sessions she had regained much of her strength in her legs and could walk around the block, to Oxychai, and more. The applause she received when she walked through the doors of Oxychai was thunderous as well as heart-warming.

I have no doubt that the oxygen therapy played a big part in her recovery and I am most grateful. May G-d reward all your dedicated technicians with only success and good health!
