AHC & HBOT

Updated: Jan 11, 2024

I have a 7-year-old son who suffers from a very rare condition known as Alternating hemiplegia of childhood (AHC).

This condition causes him to have episodes of dizziness and unwellness. Often he would have vomit attacks and his whole body would go limp another symptom was eye deviation and he would be very exhausted during the day, having at least two naps a day.

For a while, we could not find a diagnosis for his condition but we now know he has AHC.

We started doing Oxygen therapy at Oxychai a few years ago and have seen many improvements. He has more strength, is able to concentrate better in school, and has better clarity of speech and what he can tell us. One of the main things for us, however, is that we have seen a major decrease in his episodes of vomiting and when he does have an episode it is less severe and he gets over it quickly. The eye deviation also happens less he has more physical strength and he sleeps better.
