Diabetes

What is diabetes?

Diabetes occur when blood glucose levels in the bloodstream are too high (or higher than normal). Glucose is the body's main source of energy and comes from the food we eat. Insulin (hormone) is made by the pancreas and helps the glucose in the bloodstream to be transferred into the cells to be used as energy. Diabetes occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the insulin is not used properly. This results in the glucose remains in the bloodstream and does not reach the cells. Having too much glucose in the blood is dangerous and can cause health problems.

How does HBOT help treat diabetes and diabetic wounds?

Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBOT) can effectively oxidize and remove harmful toxins, bacteria, heavy metals and viruses, which are often present with diabetes. The bacteria that are associated with diabetes thrive in low oxygen. But these bacteria are poisoned and killed by high levels of pressurized oxygen.

Furthermore studies show that HBOT can produce more than 800% more stem cells after 40 HBOT treatment sessions. The body than uses these stem cells , which are able to grow into any cell that the body needs. This enables the body tissues to heal and recover even after the pathogens and toxins have left the body. Stem cells produces by HBOT can help repair the damage. Additionally HBOT helps the body's immune system. HBOT grows brand new white blood cells and regulates immune reactions and helps collagen to grow in the gut where 90% of the immune system is.

When the gut functions well,  there is a better rate of absorption of nutrients, digestion and good probiotic bacteria to keep the immune system healthy, which is key to recovery of diabetes. Diabetes can cause chronic inflammation  and oxidative stress. HBOT can significantly lower inflammation and oxidative stress as it facilitates new blood vessels to regrow through out the body providing oxygenated blood to reach the inflamed tissue and help the recovery process. Lastly HBOT is very effective with facilitating the recovery of diabetic wounds as it promotes oxygenated blood flow which helps stimulate the regrowth of capillaries.
