Building Oxychai
The journey of building Oxychai began in the realms of imagination of Sarah Dafner and blossomed into reality through her perseverance and commitment, scroll down to learn more about this incredible journey.
Vision
Building a HBOT Centre in Manchester was spear headed by Sarah Dafner. Sarah worked tirelessly to raise money for her cause and slowly but surely her idea began to gain momentum. After many months of fundraising the amount of £280,000 was raised. A committee of dedicated people who shared her vision helped her get the project off the ground. Philip B. James, Emeritus Professor of Medicine at Dundee is a member of the Hyperbaric Society and has been very supportive of our setting up this chamber. David Downie, MBE, a specialist in hyperbaric chambers, also plays a very important role in advising us on the different protocols for treating different conditions with Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy.
Mission
Once most of the funds were collected
construction for Oxychai began. Aim Habonim, a special needs school in Manchester graciously let us place the Hyperbaric chamber on their land.
Completion
Today the Oxychai therapy centre is up and running from 9am-10pm daily, with 7 session. We see patients with all types of medical conditions such Alzheimer's, Crohn's, brain damage etc. Many patients have seen big improvements in their conditions.
