Fibromyalgia

What if Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition that causes pain all over the body. Fibromyalgia symptoms include increased sensitivity to pain, muscle stiffness, difficulties with sleeping, headaches, difficulties concentrating and IBS - digestive condition that causes stomach aches and bloating. Symptoms of fibromyalgia can suddenly improve or get worse.

Research has shown that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain and spinal cord process painful and nonpainful signals. Symptoms of fibromyalgia  may begin after a physical trauma, surgery or infection or even significant psychological stress.  In other cases, symptoms gradually accumulate over time with no single triggering event.

Women are more likely to develop fibromyalgia than are men.

How can HBOT help treat Fibromyalgia?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) may be able treat fibromyalgia. HBOT has been cited in a number of recent studies to significantly improve the symptoms and quality of life, as well as brain function of patients with fibromyalgia.  Studies have shown that symptoms of fibromyalgia can be reversed in a majority of patients with Hyperbaric Oxygen.  Current treatment options are only partially effective, but hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) seems to be capable of relieving some of the symptoms.  Some improvements show HBOT can decrease pain, improve brain activity, decrease anxiety, reduce fibromyalgia symptoms and improve the quality of life for the patients.
